This week's game was a strong showing by the team from the start, with us pulling ahead in the first five minutes. This was largely constant throughout the match, but with the victory really being cemented within the first half.
The pace and accuracy of play during the first half was consistent, with strong set centre plays, the attack working the ball around the shooting third well, and the defence pinning their players. All combined this resulted in a lot of turnovers and goals.
The second and third quarters saw some different combinations. We occasionally struggled to work the ball around the opposition defence and moving the ball down the court, but there was still a lot of strong play. This extra difficulty culminated in a few moments of panic, sloppy passing, and crowding, but we recovered well. This was ultimately reflected in the overall score, which also saw us winning every quarter.
The play by the shooters was excellent, with them continually working and driving again and again to get around the tall defenders. Cammy did a fantastic job of pinning the play together all the way down the court, and her and the centre court defenders were always there with the back-up. Georgie played really well, getting many interceptions all the way through the defensive and centre thirds throughout her time on court.
